Dahana held a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Heroes’ Day at the Dahana Driving Range in Subang, West Java, on Monday, November 10, 2025. During this solemn occasion, the state-owned explosives company also provided aid in the form of basic food packages and cash to veterans of the Indonesian independence movement who are members of the Indonesian Veterans Legion (LVRI) in Cibogo District.

The ceremony was led Dahana’s President Director, Hary Irmawan, who served as the ceremony inspector. During the event, Mr Irmawan emphasized that the event is a gesture of respect and gratitude from the Company to the heroes who fought for and defended Indonesia’s independence. The assistance provided is a tangible representation of Dahana’s concern for the welfare of veterans in their old age.

“Heroes’ Day serves as a moment for us to reflect on the values of struggle that have been passed down through generations. This assistance may seem insignificant compared to the sacrifices of our veterans, but it is our way at Dahana to ‘Keep Moving, Continue the Struggle’ by making a real impact. We want to ensure that our heroes feel appreciated and not forgotten,” Mr Irmawan stated.

In the message from the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Saifullah Yusuf, which was read by Mr Irmawan, three main values that can be learned from the heroes were emphasized. The first is patience. Heroes teach the importance of patience in seeking knowledge, developing strategies, waiting for the right moment, and collaboratively building unity despite limitations and differing views.

The second lesson highlights the spirit of prioritizing the interests of the nation above all else. After achieving independence, the heroes did not compete for positions or seek retribution. Instead, they returned to the people to teach, build, and continue their service, demonstrating that true honor lies in the benefits they leave behind.

The third value is foresight. The heroes dedicated their struggle to future generations and the prosperity of the nation. Their mandate states that the heroes made their struggle part of their worship; their sacrifices are unquenchable prayers, and giving up means abandoning the mandate of humanity.

The Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that today’s struggle has transformed; it is no longer about using sharpened bamboo spears, rather about “knowledge, empathy, and devotion.” This spirit, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, must be upheld to defend the weak and fight for justice, echoing the theme of Heroes’ Day 2025: “My Heroes, My Role Models.”

The assistance provided by Dahana was received with deep emotion and gratitude by the veterans. Dadang Suherlan, a representative of the Indonesian Volunteer Association (LVRI) for Cibogo District, expressed profound appreciation for Dahana’s consistent attention and concern. He expressed pride that state-owned enterprises still honor freedom fighters on Heroes’ Day.

“We are very grateful for the invitation to this ceremony and the assistance provided. This support is not just about basic necessities or cash; it represents memories and appreciation. We pray that Dahana will continue to progress, prosper, and provide significant benefits to the nation and state,” Mr Suherlan stated.

The Heroes’ Day commemoration event in Subang concluded with a friendly gathering between Dahana management and the veterans. This activity not only strengthened ties but also reaffirmed Dahana’s commitment to implementing its Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) program as a concrete expression of heroic values in today’s society.
